AC Milan are weighing up a winter move for Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas, according to reports.

Calciomercato claim the Serie A club have already made contact over a possible move, with sporting director Leonardo looking to make a marquee signing.

Fabregas’ playing time has steadily dropped over the last two seasons at Chelsea, whom he joined in 2014, leading them to the Premier League title in 2014/15 and then winning another two seasons ago.

However, at the moment he is behind Jorginho, N’Golo Kante, and Ross Barkley in manager Maurizio Sarri’s pecking order.

The 31-year-old could be available for a cut-price free in January, as his contract expires next summer.
