Georgia’s teenage sensation Giorgi Chakvetadze passed his Barcelona auditions during his country’s UEFA Nations League game in Andorra.

The attacking midfielder who plays for Gent has attracted a lot of attention from teams such as Bournemouth, Tottenham, Shakhtar Donetsk and Bayern Munich.

Not a player with the ‘Barca DNA’ – as Xavi Hernandez would say – six feet tall Chakvetadze uses his height and pace to get past defenders and threaten the goalkeeper.

The youngster lacks technique and uses his physicality to turn the situation into his favour.

In the 15 games that he has played , Chakvetadze has scored four goals and provided one assist in the Belgian top flight this season.

The Barcelona scouting members who were watching the 19-year-old from the stands on Saturday night would no doubt be pleased with what they saw.
