Gareth Bale has shot down speculation he is set for a big-money switch to Manchester United, insisting he loves everything about life at Real Madrid.

Bale, 25, has been linked with a £120 million (Dh685.8m) return to the Premier League with Louis van Gaal’s rejuvenated side.

But the Wales forward has dismissed any idea that he is set to turn his back on Los Blancos just over a year since his 100m (Dh446.6m) transfer from Tottenham.

“Manchester United? I’m happy in Madrid,” Bale told Spanish sports daily Marca in Dubai, where he came on as a half-time substitute in Real’s 4-2 friendly loss to Milan.

“I love the city, the weather and the club. I’m eager to win more silverware here. I have a contract with Real until 2019 and I could remain for more years after the end of it.”

Meanwhile, Rossoneri head coach Filippo Inzaghi believed the victory against the Champions League holders gives him hope ahead of next week’s Serie A resumption. Inzaghi has been tasked with guiding Milan up the standings after a dismal 2013/14
campaign.

“I am satisfied,” Inzaghi told Milan Channel. “It was however a friendly and we cannot get ahead of ourselves. It’s been a while now that we’ve been playing like this and tonight it all went very well.

“To have seen us grow so much gives me hope, the biggest satisfaction is the attitude we had.”

Opposite number Carlo Ancelotti was not down-heartened by last night’s defeat, choosing to reflect on a tremendous 2014 which featured Champions League, Copa del Rey and Club World Cup triumphs.

“The defeat does not bother us at all and on a technical level the team was good," he said.

“We are really happy to put an end to a fantastic year.”
