La Liga giants Barcelona are monitoring the progress of Poland Under-21 striker Krzysztof Piatek after his blistering start at Genoa, according to reports.

Piatek, 23, has struck seven times in three competitive games since his summer arrival from Cracovia.

Genoa-based newspaper Il Secolo XIX has stated that such lethal form has alerted scouts from the Spanish champions. They are currently assessing long-term replacements for Uruguay centre forward Luis Suarez.

Piatek has been compared to Bayern Munich hot shot Robert Lewandowksi by Polish media.
