Eden Hazard ‘may never end up signing for Real Madrid’, Chelsea star’s father claims

Chelsea wizard Eden Hazard might not ever be destined for Real Madrid, according to the player’s father.

The Blues’ mercurial No10 has long since been linked with the Bernabeu and has himself made no secret of the fact he would love to wear the Los Blancos jersey.

But, with the La Liga transfer window deadline fast approaching on August 31, it appears unlikely the 27-year-old will move to the Whites.

Indeed, Hazard’s father, Thierry, feels his son’s chances of switching to the Spanish capital might be over after a previous deal broke down between club and player.

“I can’t say why it did not go through (before),” he said in an interview with Hiet Nieuwsblad.

“Not because I don’t want to, because I don’t know. Maybe they have a policy where they want to give the youth a chance. Eden will have one more year on his contract next summer, but he may never end up in Madrid.”
