Barcelona are desperate to keep Ivan Rakitic at the Camp Nou and will offer the Croat a bumper new contract soon, Marca reports.

Bayern Munich and more recently Paris Saint-Germain have been chasing the 2018 World Cup finalist, who at 30, is still considered an important man in Blaugrana’s midfield despite the summer arrivals of Arthur and Arturo Vidal.

Although Rakitic’s existing deal runs out in 2021, Barca want to ensure the former Sevilla man remains in Catalonia.

That could mean a new contract for him, including a staggering €125million release clause.
