Russia international Denis Cheryshev has joined Valencia on a season-long loan from Villarreal.

Cheryshev was one of the stars of his nation’s run to the World Cup quarter-finals, scoring four goals in five matches, as well as a penalty in the win over Spain.

The 37-year-old made 24 appearances in La Liga for Villarreal last season, but only started nine matches.

His addition to Los Che continues a manic week in the transfer market, with Michy Batshuayi and Kevin Gameiro also confirming switches to the Mestalla Stadium.
