Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko is on the brink of signing for Serie A giants AC Milan, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

The 23-year-old Frenchman has been deemed surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge and failed to win over new Blues boss Maurizio Sarri.

Jorginho’s emergence against Huddersfield in an already stacked engine room department means the former Monaco man has slipped further down the pecking order.

Bakayoko’s representatives are now thought to be thrashing out terms over a season-long loan move with the Rossoneri.

That deal is likely to include a purchase option at the end of his stay, though the two clubs are haggling over the fee, believed to be in the region of £35m.
