Real Madrid are set to make one final attempt to sign Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard before the La Liga transfer window deadline slams shut on August 31, the Daily and Sunday Express reports.

Los Blancos have long since been linked with the 27-year-old Belgian, who himself has not been shy in the past in revealing his desire to play for the Santiago Bernabeu club one day.

And he could yet get his wish should the Whites come up £200 million (Dh938m) offer for Hazard this month, which would make him the second-most expensive player ever behind Neymar.

Despite that large sum, the Blues and new boss Maurizio Sarri has previously stated that his No10 is going nowhere.

The ball is now in Madrid’s court and it will be intriguing to see how they play their cards.
