The Andre Silva experiment is coming to an end after just one year, with various reports from Italy indicating that he is on the verge of joining Sevilla from AC Milan.

The Portugal striker, who stars alongside Cristiano Ronaldo for his nation, never got off the ground at the San Siro – taking until March to score his first Serie A goal after joining last summer.

The Rossoneri shelled out the princely sum of €38m to Porto for his services but will hope Silva is a success in Spain, as Sevilla are willing to pay up an initial €5m loan fee with a €30m option to buy.

Silva is not part of the squad that faces Real Madrid in a friendly on Saturday and has flown out to Seville for a medical.

He follows another AC Milan striker in Nikola Kalinic to La Liga, who departed for Atletico Madrid last week.
