DEADLINE DAY live blog: Kepa Arrizabalaga wants to be remembered for bringing success to Chelsea

It’s DEADLINE DAY in the English Premier League and there is already much gnashing of teeth over the date being moved forward to before the season kick-offs, especially in a World Cup year.

The Sport360 team will be here all day with everything you need to know on all the last minute deals and disaster right up until the window slams shut at 5pm UK time (8pm UAE time).

7.40pm- Everton sign Bernard from Shakhtar Donetsk

Everton have completed the signing of Brazilian attacker Bernard on a four-year deal.

The 25-year-old, who can operate as a wide man or attacking midfielder, left Shakhtar Donetsk earlier this summer at the end of his contract.

Bernard has signed a deal until 2022 at Goodison Park, and revealed the key role played by Toffees boss Marco Silva, telling evertontv: “I chose Everton because of all the things I had heard about Marco Silva and, after speaking to him, I was happy with what he said to me.”

7.20pm: Ospina agrees personal terms with Besiktas

David Ospina is set to complete his exit from Arsenal after agreeing personal terms with Besiktas.

The Colombia international joined the North London club from Nice in 2014, making 70 appearances in all competitions.

However, the 31-year-old has failed to usurp Petr Cech as the Gunners No1 shot-stopper and with the arrival of Germany international Bernd Leno, his chances of regular game time will be limited.

5.50pm – Federico Fernandez heads to Newcastle ahead of switch from Swansea

Swansea defender Federico Fernandez headed for Tyneside on Thursday afternoon as Newcastle attempted to push through a deadline day deal.

With the two clubs still working to agree a fee, the 29-year-old Argentina international made his way to the north-east to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms.

4.45pm – Kepa Arrizabalaga wants to be remembered as someone who brought success to Chelsea

Kepa Arrizabalaga is targeting sustained success with Chelsea after moving to Stamford Bridge for a world-record fee for a goalkeeper.

The 23-year-old on Wednesday joined from Athletic Bilbao for £72.1million, after Chelsea met his ‎€80m buyout clause. Kepa could make his Chelsea debut in Saturday’s Premier League clash at Huddersfield.

4.43pm – Lucas Perez moves across London from Arsenal to West Ham

West Ham have confirmed the signing of forward Lucas Perez from Arsenal on a three-year deal.

Perez, 29, joined Arsenal from Deportivo La Coruna in August 2016 and spent last season on loan back at the Spanish club.

4.15pm – Harry Maguire on his way to Man United – but only for a few hours

Claude Puel has confirmed Harry Maguire is on his way to Manchester United – for Leicester‘s Premier League opener on Friday night.

Maguire is thought to be United’s number one transfer target as they look to sign a central defender ahead of today’s transfer deadline.

4.10pm – Top ten biggest signings in the transfer window – so far

Alisson arrived at Liverpool for a short-lived world record fee for a keeper

As always it’s been a busy transfer window in the Premier League â€“ made even busier by the bringing forward of the deadline to the day before the kick-off.

Here a list of the top ten biggest signings in the window – to date – so you can keep a track of which clubs have won the transfer window and which ones have lost.

2.03pm – Jose Mourinho confirms Man United will not make any new signings on deadline day

So much for all the big talk. In a major blow to their title hopes Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed there will be no more additions to the Red Devils playing stocks this window.

So no Toby Alderweireld, no Yerry Mina, no Jerome Boateng and not even Harry Maguire.

1.45pm – Leicester strengthen backline

Leicester have agreed a deal to sign Dinamo Zagreb defender Filip Benkovic.

The 21-year-old has signed a five-year contract at the King Power Stadium, subject to the deal being given international clearance.

He becomes the sixth new arrival of the summer following the acquisitions of Ricardo Pereira, Jonny Evans, James Maddison, Danny Ward and Rachid Ghezzal.

1.30pm – Perez joins the Hammers

Lucas Perez spent last season on loan at Newcastle.

West Ham have confirmed the signing of forward Lucas Perez from Arsenal on a three-year deal.

Perez, 29, joined Arsenal from Deportivo La Coruna in August 2016 and spent last season on loan back at the Spanish club.

The striker said on West Ham’s official website: “I’m very excited, as West Ham are giving me the chance to stay in the Premier League and I’m very happy to be part of this new project. I’m very motivated.”

12.30pm – United adamant Pogba will not be allowed to leave for Barcelona

Press Association Sport understands Manchester United have no intention of selling Paul Pogba, who has been linked with Barcelona, but Jose Mourinho’s hopes of strengthening his squad are fading.

England’s World Cup star Harry Maguire has been among the main targets this summer, but Leicester have repeatedly made it clear that the defender is not for sale.

11.06am – Ambitious Wolves break club record fee to sign Middlesbrough winger Adama Traore

Adama Traore of Middlesbrough (r) is off to Wolves but Jack Grealish of Aston Villa (l) is not going to Spurs

Wolves have signed Middlesbrough winger Adama Traore for an undisclosed fee, reported to be a club-record ÂŁ18m.

The 22-year-old has signed a five-year deal at Molineux after the Barcelona academy graduate excelled in Boro’s Championship campaign last season.

But Traore’s former  team-mate Jack Grealish is not getting his dream move to Tottenham.

Daniel Arzani featured at the World Cup.

Manchester City have announced the signing of 19-year-old Australian Daniel Arzani from their partner club Melbourne City.

Midfielder Arzani featured in the World Cup for the Socceroos, playing in the final group game against eventual champions France.
