Julen Lopetegui has ended speculation of Luka Modric leaving Real Madrid for Inter Milan.

The Spaniard insists that Los Blancos are waiting for the Croatian captain ‘with open arms’.

Inter manager Luciano Spalletti refuses to give up the dream of signing the 32-year-old, saying: “I will keep on dreaming with the fans.”

However, Madrid president Florentino Perez has already stated that the only way the midfielder would be allowed to leave is if someone met his release clause of €750 million.

“I think the president said it, I don’t think there’s much more to add,” Lopetegui said.

“He’s made it concise and clear. Luka Modric is an extraordinary player and we’re waiting for him with open arms.”
