Italian media are reporting that AC Milan are lining up a big-money move for Lazio’s star midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

According to La Stampa, Milan are preparing a deal that would see the Serbian move north on an initial one-year loan deal with a €40million fee, and an €80million option to buy at the end of next season.

Milan, who have fallen afoul of UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations recently, are looking to build around newly-arrived striker Gonzalo Higuain, who has just joined from Juventus in a deal that also included defender Mattia Caldara, with centre-back Leonardo Bonucci moving in the opposite direction.

New AC Milan sporting director Leonardo is looking for creative players who can complement Higuain, and Milinkovic-Savic is seemingly at the top of his list.
