Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde has moved to quash rumours linking the Catalan giants with a sensational raid this week for Manchester United star Paul Pogba.

The World Cup winner has apparently been on Barcelona’s radar for a while, but given the capture of Bayern Munich enforcer Arturo Vidal late on Friday night, it seems as though a prospective deal for the Frenchman is dead in the water.

Valverde, speaking at a press conference, revealed his admiration for the former Juventus star who has had a falling out with Jose Mourinho, however, the man in charge at the Camp Nou all but ruled out a move for the Red Devils central midfielder ahead of the new campaign.
