Arsenal are looking to bolster their defence before the summer transfer window shuts.

The Sun claims the Gunners are targeting Croatia’s World Cup star Domagoj Vida and are preparing a £25 million bid to acquire the centre-back’s services.

However, with Unai Emery operating under a strict transfer budget this summer, the deal will only be possible if Arsenal are able to offload one of Shkodran Mustafi or Danny Welbeck to free up the funds.

Emery is said to be unconvinced by the six central defenders he already has at his disposal at the Emirates Stadium ahead of the new season.
