Luka Modric enjoyed a sensational World Cup campaign as he starred for Croatia on their way to the final where they were ultimately defeated by France.

The skipper though deservedly picked up the Golden Ball for his efforts and Real Madrid would’ve braced themselves for a few bids for the midfield maestro.

Few would’ve expected an approach from Inter Milan but the Serie A outfit are serious about recruiting Modric, journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports.

They have already contacted the player’s agent to discuss a potential move. Inter have quite the Croatian contingent with Modric’s international team-mates Ivan Perisic, Marcelo Brozovic and the newly signed Sime Vrsaljko all at the San Siro.
