Everton are close to completing a deal for Barcelona defender Lucas Digne, the Liverpool Echo reports.

The French left-back is expected to switch to Goodison Park in a move worth up to €22million.

With Jordi Alba ensuring Digne’s first-team opportunities will remain limited at Camp Nou, the 25-year-old could reignite his career in the Premier League as Everton believe he can become Leighton Baines’ long-term replacement.

Marco Silva’s men have also been pursuing towering Colombian centre-back Yerry Mina, but it remains unclear whether the 23-year-old will also leave Barca for the Toffees.
