Real Madrid target third member of PSG band with Neymar and Kylian Mbappe out of reach

The clamour surrounding a potential Edinson Cavani move to Real Madrid has intensified as further reports have claimed that the Uruguay striker is seriously piquing the interest of the Champions League holders.

AS now insist that Madrid, frustrated in their pursuit to bring either Neymar or Kylian Mbappe to the Bernabeu, are willing to settle for the third member of Paris Saint-Germain’s band.

The 31-year-old may not be the glamorous pick – but surely the most accessible. And given that Cristiano Ronaldo has taken a club-record 450 goals with him to Juventus, Cavani, who has scored at a rate of 0.7 goals per game for PSG, would go some way to filling that void.

The report goes on to say that although Cavani has a contract in Paris until 2020, the club should be willing to let him go for less than 100 million given his advancing years.
