As the World Cup draws to its conclusion, there’s another way to get your football fix – by keeping your ear to the ground for the latest transfer stories.

There’s a near competitive-football-free month for most of Europe’s clubs – and beyond – to get deals done, and it could spark a mad scramble with the Premier League’s transfer window slamming shut on August 9.

Here, we look at the latest transfer deals that could happen very soon.

Let us know your thoughts via Twitter and Facebook.

KARIM BENZEMA

The Real Madrid forward has been linked with a move to Napoli, according to Tuttosport.

New Partenopei coach Carlo Ancelotti has asked club chairman Aurelio de Laurentiis to consider the French attacker as he wants to build further on the success of last season, which saw them finish second in the Serie A.

The 30-year-old was heavily criticised for below-par performances last season and a return of just 10 goals in all competitions.

Despite speculation Valencia’s Rodrigo Moreno could replace the former Lyon frontman this summer, Benzema is keen on staying in the Spanish capital after signing a fresh four-year contract last September.

MATTEO DARMIAN

The full-back is on the brink of signing for Inter Milan, the Mirror reports.

Juventus had been linked with a move for Darmian, and their offer of a one-year loan with an option to purchase has now been matched by Inter.

The 28-year-old defender endured a miserable campaign under Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, and featured just 17 times in all competitions.

A fee in the region of £15m could be agreed between the two clubs while Darmian himself could pen a lengthy five-year contract in Milan.
