ADRIEN RABIOT

Barcelona are edging closer to the capture of the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder after reportedly agreeing terms with the 23-year-old.

According to Sport, the Blaugrana have thrashed out terms for Rabiot and he is set to finalise his switch in the coming days.

The former Manchester City graduate endured a difficult past season at the Parc des Princes, whereby a lack of game time ultimately cost him a place in Didier Deschamps’ France World Cup squad.

Barca are looking to add more youth and competition to their engine room next term, with Rabiot expected to be the latest incomer following Arthur’s arrival from Gremio.

Rabiot featured rarely last season.

CRISTIAN PAVON

Arsenal have not given up hope of signing the Boca Juniors forward but could be priced out of a move.

AS reports that the Argentine giants have increased the 22-year-old’s release clause to £37.5m (Dh182m) in a bid to ensure he does leave the club on the cheap.

Unai Emery wants the Argentina international to provide competition for first-choice striking duo Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang next term.

The Gunners have had a busy summer transfer window so far following the high-profile arrivals of Lucas Torreira, Bernd Leno and Sokratis Papastathopoulos.

Cristian Pavon is wanted by the north London club.
