Barcelona‘s pursuit of Chelsea winger Willian took a major blow on Friday.

The Premier League club have rejected a £50million bid from the Catalans for the Brazilian.

Willian is currently with the Brazil squad at the World Cup in Russia as they prepare to face Mexico in the round of 16.

Barcelona are keen on adding him to their roster as they look to bolster their attack. However, Chelsea’s dismissal of their latest bid is good news for Manchester United who are also tracking the 29-year-old.

Jose Mourinho is known to be a huge admirer of the former Shakhtar Donetsk player and is confident of luring him to Old Trafford after making a similar swoop for Nemanja Matic last summer.

Willian enjoyed an impressive individual campaign at Chelsea this past season as he registered 12 goals and 13 assists in all competitions. However, he’s yet to produce his best for Brazil in Russia.
