Paris St Germain midfielder Javier Pastore has undergone a medical at Roma ahead of a transfer to the Italian club.

The Argentinian, who played in Serie A for Palermo before joining PSG in 2011, is set to return to Italy in a reported 20million euros (£17.6m) deal.

Roma posted pictures of Pastore arriving in the Italian capital on Monday and followed it the next morning with a tweet showing the 29-year-old undergoing his medical tests at the club’s training ground.

Pastore, who was left out of Argentina’s World Cup squad, could be Radja Nainggolan’s replacement in the Roma midfield, with the Belgian set for a move to Inter Milan.
