The transfer window is well and truly open.

With the rumours growing in pace and volume during this ‘silly season’, it can be difficult and painstaking to separate the stories of some legitimacy from the rest of the white noise.

Fortunately, we’ve taken it upon ourselves to do it for you.

Below, you’ll find some of the latest transfer news churned out of the rumour mill broken down and analysed for your benefit along with our calculated predictions.

JORGINHO – NAPOLI TO MAN CITY

The highly-rated Napoli midfielder is set to deal a blow to Liverpool and Manchester United by signing for Manchester City, Sky Sports News claims.

Why it will happen: Pep Guardiola is keen to strengthen his midfield this summer with the Italy international viewed as ideal competition for Fernandinho. And with the potential to win silverware at the Etihad Stadium, it looks like a difficult move to turn down for the 26-year-old.

Why it won’t happen: He is still a key man for the Partenopei and they really can’t afford to lose him, especially after coming within a whisker of winning Serie A last season.

Prediction: Napoli will want to keep their star man for another season, but Jorginho may feel now is the right time to move on from Stadio San Paolo in a bid to further his development and win silverware.

Rating – 7/10

BERND LENO – BAYER LEVERKUSEN TO ARSENAL

The Bayer Leverkusen shot-stopper is set to sign for Arsenal over the coming days, according to Kicker.

Why it will happen: The 26-year-old is closing in on a move to North London and is seen by Unai Emery as the ideal successor to an ageing Petr Cech.

Why it won’t happen: Only if something drastic happens. A late swoop from another team or if negotiations over personal terms collapse.

Prediction: Arsenal want to rebuild under Emery and Leno remains a key part of his plans.

Rating – 8/10

DANIEL STURRIDGE – LIVERPOOL TO FENERBAHCE

Liverpool will demand £15m (Dh73m) for their out-of-favour striker, reports The Telegraph.

Why it will happen: Sturridge is chasing game time in a bid to re-ignite his career and Fenerbahce look like they may take a gamble on the Englishman.

Why it won’t happen: It remains to be seen whether the Turkish giants would take a gamble on an injury-prone player who requires mammoth wages in excess of £100,000 per week.

Prediction: The Liverpool player can reignite his career with a move abroad and would get his confidence back with regular game time elsewhere.

Rating – 5/10
