NICK POPE

Liverpool are set to solve their goalkeeping woes by clinching a deal for the talented Burnley and England shot-stopper, according to The Sun.

The Reds were rumoured to be closing in on Roma’s Alisson but that move has hit a snag, opening the door for Jurgen Klopp’s men to land the 26-year-old.

Pope, whose dramatic rise to footballing stardom saw him win a place in Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions squad for the World Cup, could be available for as little as £15 million (Dh73.8m).

With Tom Heaton set to return from injury next term, the Clarets could be tempted to cash in on Pope now while his stock is high.

Current men between the sticks; Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet, are both set to leave Anfield this summer.

Revelation: Nick Pope.

JACK GREALISH

Tottenham are preparing to raid Aston Villa for the 22-year-old midfielder, Sky Sports are reporting.

The Midlanders failed to secure promotion to the Premier League, falling in the Play-Off final against Fulham at Wembley last month, and are embroiled in a financial crisis.

It is therefore likely star asset Grealish will need to be sold to plug a huge financial black hole, giving Spurs license to conjure up a bid thought to be in the region of £30m (Dh147m).

Leicester City are also thought to be in the running for the Englishman but the lure of Champions League football would give Mauricio Pochettino’s men the edge in any potential one-to-one duel.

Grealish missed out on Premier League promotion with Villa.
