GARETH BALE

Real Madrid are in no mood to sell Gareth Bale after his Champions League final heroics against Liverpool. However, if the Welshman does insist on leaving the Santiago Bernabeu, Madrid will demand a record transfer fee.

The figure they would seek is €222 million, according to Spanish newspaper ABC (via Sport), which is the same price tag that took Neymar from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain.

Los Blancos accept that Bale’s buyout clause of €1,000 million is unrealistic but feel a record fee is nevertheless warranted for the winger.

Bale, a Manchester United target this summer, is keen to move in order to secure regular playing time.

CLEMENT LENGLET

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has targeted Clement Lenglet as a more affordable alternative to Toby Alderweireld, according to Manchester Evening News.

The Portuguese coach is considering a €35 million bid for the Sevilla centre-back as he attempts to strengthen the Premier League outfit’s defence.

Tottenham reportedly rejected an offer in the region of €62 million for Alderweireld, prompting United to look at alternatives.

Having already completed the signings of Diogo Dalot from Porto and Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk, the Red Devils are keen on continuing their investment in the squad as they attempt to bridge the gap between themselves and Manchester City.
