Arsenal’s summer refit under new head coach Unai Emery is set to continue with the capture of Sampdoria and Uruguay midfielder Lucas Torreira ahead of Napoli, according to reports.

Torreira, 22, emerged as one of the most-promising players in Serie A at last term’s 10th-placed finishers. This form has not gone unnoticed elsewhere, with the breakout star in Genoa strongly linked with a switch down south to Naples.

But Gianluca Di Marzio has stated that the Gunners are looking to take advantage of a €25 million (Dh108m) release clause in his contract. They are also pondering whether to offer even more money to get the deal done.

Torreira has scored four times in 74 appearances for Samp since his 2016 arrival from Pescara.
