SOKRATIS  PAPASTATHOPOULOS

Borussia Dortmund defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos has snubbed an offer from Manchester United in favour of moving to Arsenal instead.

The Mirror have quoted the player’s father saying: “There was interest from United but he had to wait until July for them,” Charalambos Papastathopoulos, said.

“United have a very good relationship with Dortmund, the teams talked but Sokratis chose to go to Arsenal.”

The centre-back is expected to become Unai Emery’s first signing as Gunners boss after a £16 million deal was agreed between the two clubs.

RIYAD MAHREZ

Leicester City are willing to negotiate with Manchester City over the proposed transfer of Riyad Mahrez.

The Foxes are looking to persuade the Premier League champions to include Patrick Roberts in a player-plus-cash deal for the Algerian star, The Telegraph reports.

Pep Guardiola’s side are hoping to seal a £60 million deal for the attacking midfielder this summer.

Leicester are resigned to losing one of their most prized assets in Mahrez but are keen to secure the signing of the 21-year-old Roberts in return.

CHRISTEN ERIKSEN

Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen has been the subject of interest from Barcelona this summer as they look to replace Andres Iniesta but Juventus will offer the Catalans stiff competition.

According to Calciomercato, the Serie A giants are planning for the departure of Miralem Pjanic in the near future and believe Eriksen would be the ideal replacement.

The Bianconeri would rather not sell Pjanic, but are bracing themselves for a huge bid for the playmaker in the summer.

Eriksen has emerged as the prime candidate to take his place but Tottenham won’t let him go cheaply.
