Manchester United are close to signing Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk.

Reports suggest that the Brazilian international arrived at Carrington on Monday. Sky Sports reporter and Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio claims the midfielder has already passed his medical.

An announcement is expected to be made within 24 hours.

Fred will sign on a 5-year deal after completing a transfer worth €60 million.

The Premier League giants are keen to wrap up the signing before the start of the World Cup in Russia.
