Antoine Griezmann has revealed that he will announce his future before the 2018 World Cup in Russia begins.

The Frenchman has been heavily linked to La Liga winners Barcelona, after having led his Atletico Madrid side to a Europa League win.

When asked if an announcement will be made prior to the World Cup, the 27-year-old said: “Yes, it will be done before the competition.”

While Atletico’s president Enrique Cerezo has denied that Griezmann is for sale and team-mate Diego Costa believes the forward is taking time because he will stay, talks have intensified over the last few weeks and a move remains a real possibility.

Barca stars including Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez too have welcomed the idea of Griezmann moving to the Camp Nou after showering praise on him.

Meanwhile, Griezmann scored a penalty as France won 3-1 over Italy on Friday, as Barca duo Samuel Umtiti and Ousmane Dembele also got on the score sheet.
