The transfer window is now open in the Premier League, with the rest of Europe set to follow soon.

The window is followed by the usual speculation, and with the airwaves full of transfer rumours, it can be difficult to figure out which ones are legitimate and which are just noise.

Fortunately, we’ve taken it upon ourselves to do it for you.

Below, you’ll find some of the latest transfer news churned out of our Rumour Mill broken down and analysed for your benefit along with our calculated predictions.

DIEGO GODIN – FROM ATLETICO MADRID TO JUVENTUS

Why it will happen: The 32-year-old Uruguayan has yet to enter talks over a new deal at Wanda Metropolitano, which is worrying for Atleti fans, given it runs out next year.

Why it won’t happen: Godin is an Atletico legend and Diego Simeone’s warrior on the pitch – and is by all means happy in the Spanish capital. He would leave with a very heavy heart, should that day come.

Prediction: Juventus would actually be a great fit for the centre-back, but it still seems unimaginable to see him at another club now. Godin should see out his career with Atletico.

Rating – 3/10

Diego Godin celebrates Europa League success in Lyon.

EMIL FORSBERG – RB LEIPZIG TO ARSENAL

Why it will happen: Unai Emery has scribbled the 26-year-old’s name down on his summer wishlist and is set to be backed by the Gunners board to secure one of his number-one targets.

Why it won’t happen: Atletico Madrid and Juventus are also in the running for his signature, with both clubs able to give Forsberg Champions League football. Could prove to be a huge factor.

Prediction: The winger is a terrific talent and could become an astute signing for the Gunners. They will, however, need to move quickly as his stock will well and truly rise if he performs at the World Cup.

Rating – 7/10

Fosberg is entering the peak of his powers.

MARIO BALOTELLI – NICE TO PARMA

Why it will happen: The Nice forward is out of contract next month and there is no sign he will extend his deal at the French Riviera side, leaving the door open to a return to Serie A.

Why it won’t happen: He has, in the past, been linked with a switch back to the Premier League and that could be something on his radar.

Prediction: Balotelli, after a fine season in Ligue 1, is definitely on his way to a new club but it might not be Parma.

Rating – 6/10

Balotelli could return to Serie A.
