The transfer window is now open in the Premier League, with the rest of Europe set to follow soon.

The window is followed by the usual speculation, and with the airwaves full of transfer rumours, it can be difficult to figure out which ones are legitimate and which are just noise.

Fortunately, we’ve taken it upon ourselves to do it for you.

Below, you’ll find some of the latest transfer news churned out of our Rumour Mill broken down and analysed for your benefit along with our calculated predictions.

JOE HART – FROM MANCHESTER CITY TO MANCHESTER UNITED

Why it will happen: The Red Devills will likely need a new back-up goalkeeper for next season, with Sergio Romero likely to leave Old Trafford. Hart’s experience and availability is a viable option.

Why it won’t happen: A move to Sky Blues’ arch-rivals would risk his Sky Blues legacy, given he was part of two title-winning teams at the Etihad Stadium.

Prediction: With his loan stint at West Ham at an end, expect the 31-year-old to find a new club for next season but it certainly won’t be United.

Rating – 3/10

Hart spent last season on loan at West Ham.

SOKRATIS PAPASTATHOPOULOS – BORUSSIA DORTMUND TO ARSENAL

Why it will happen: Unai Emery is desperate to make early signings in the transfer window and the Greek star fits the bill, bringing much-needed steel and calmness to the Gunners’ central defence.

Why it won’t happen: The north London side aren’t the only Premier League club in the mix for his signature as Manchester United are also keen on signing him.

Prediction: The Dortmund star apparently has already entered talks with Arsenal representatives and it looks as though this deal is almost done.

Rating – 8/10

Arsenal-bound: Sokratis.

MATTEO DARMIAN – MANCHESTER UNITED TO JUVENTUS

Why it will happen: The Italian is surplus to requirements at Old Trafford and a move back to Serie A suits all parties this summer.

Why it won’t happen: Extremely unlikely that Darmian will stay at the Red Devils – it would take a big glitch in the deal to scupper this one.

Prediction: A move to the Old Lady is an excellent chance for the 28-year-old to reignite his career, and it also gives Jose Mourinho more funds to replenish his squad.

Rating – 9/10

Heading to Serie A: Darmian.
