JACK WILSHERE

Paris Saint-Germain are the latest club to be linked with the Arsenal midfielder, who will be a free agent when his contract runs out at the end of June.

L’Equipe has reported that the French giants were offered the 26-year-old’s services by the player’s representatives, although the Parisians have yet to declare any official interest in his signature.

Despite featuring more regularly at the Emirates this past season having endured two nightmare campaigns with injury previously, Wilshere still missed out on a place in England’s World Cup squad.

The boyhood Gunner is said to be desperate to stay at Arsenal but talks over a new contract have slowed.

Wilshere featured in 20 Premier League matches this past season.

BEN GIBSON

Southampton are set to open their summer warchest and bid £20m (Dh98m) for the 25-year-old Middlesbrough defender, The Sun reports.

Having avoided relegation by the skin of their teeth, the Saints want to ensure there is no repeat of their 2017-18 struggles next term and plan to strengthen significantly.

With Mark Hughes likely to be given the managerial reins on a permanent basis, the club’s scouting network have identified the Boro centre-back as a man who fits the bill.

The nephew of Steve Gibson, academy graduate Ben would leave his side with a heavy heart but is thought to be desperate to play in the Premier League.

The Saints are set for a summer of change, with Mark Hughes likely to get a full-time job.
