Report: Barcelona plan pact with Atletico Madrid over Antoine Griezmann

Barcelona are hopeful of reaching an agreement with Atletico Madrid at the earliest possibly opportunity over the signing of Antoine Griezmann.

The Catalan club, according to Sport, are willing to pay up to €15m more on top of the 27-year-old’s €100m release clause to land their man.

As part of that prospective deal, it would seemingly allow Ernesto Valverde’s men to wrap up the transfer before the World Cup in Russia.

Barca are also apparently hoping pre-transfer terms will help to draw a line under a feud between themselves and Atleti, with Diego Simeone’s men being unhappy about the La Liga champions’ reported one-to-one contact with the player.

All in all, Barcelona want to get the signing done as soon as possible – something that should suit the Red and Whites given it will allow them more time to find a replacement and put to bed any potential transfer saga being drawn out throughout the whole summer.
