The summer transfer window is now a month away and the rumours of players potentially being on the move is gathering pace.

WAYNE ROONEY

The former England captain’s fairytale second-coming at boyhood club Everton could end after just one season.

According to The Washington Post, the 32-year-old is in talks to join MLS side D.C. United this summer for a new challenge having endured a difficult 2018 so far under Sam Allardyce at Goodison Park.

Rooney, who still has one year remaining on his current deal with the Toffees, could follow the likes of David Beckham, Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard in heading stateside at the end of their respective glittering careers.

Having spent a record-breaking 13 years at Manchester United, Rooney’s return to the Blues has yielded 11 goals, mostly from a central midfield position, in 40 appearances.

Frustration: Rooney unhappy at being subbed off regularly under Allardyce.

YAYA TOURE

The Ivory Coast powerhouse’s agent has revealed his client will do anything to prolong his Premier League career and continue in England’s top-flight next season.

At 34, Toure is out of contract next month and certain to leave Manchester City after eight successful years at the Etihad Stadium.

Dimitri Seluk, the player’s representative, told Sky Sports News that the former Barcelona star is willing to pay 50 per cent of his wages to secure a deal somewhere else in the division.

However, given the fact the veteran midfielder managed just nine appearances this term as City triumphed in the league, clubs might be reluctant to give him another opportunity.

KOSTAS MANOLAS

Roma are willing to listen to offers for the Greece international and have apparently offered his services to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Marca reports that the Serie A side are keen to cash in on the 26-year-old, who has enjoyed an improved season at centre-back for the Stadio Olimpico club.

Los Blancos will almost certainly bolster their defensive ranks this summer, in the hope of avoiding a situation whereby a winger such as Lucas Vazquez plays in a makeshift right-back berth.

That said, it remains to be seen whether Zinedine Zidane’s men will launch a concrete approach for Manolas’ services.
