Though the summer transfer window is still a couple of months away, that hasn’t stopped the rumours of players potentially being on the move.

Across the world of football, there remains plenty of activity and stories that have football fans talking.

JEROME BOATENG

The defensive enforcer is set to leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season and pursue a new challenge, according to sports magazine Socrates.

Boateng has been a stalwart in the Bavarians’ backline since 2011, winning six Bundesliga titles and a Champions League medal during that time, but has admitted he has accomplished everything with the German giants.

The 29-year-old is contracted to the Allianz Arena until 2021 but could try and force a move this summer, with there apparently being plenty of admirers from the Premier League.

On Wednesday night, Boateng limped off after just 33 minutes against Real Madrid – sparking fears his season has come to a premature end and World Cup participation could be in doubt.

FABIAN RUIZ

Barcelona are poised to table a summer bid for the Real Betis midfielder, reports Mundo Deportivo.

Blaugrana scouts have been running the rule over the 22-year-old talent, who has impressed for the Andalusian outfit in La Liga this term.

With Andres Iniesta departing, duo Sergio Busquets and Paulinho approaching their 30th birthdays and Ivan Rakitic turning 31 next year, the Catalan giants are slowly but surely rebuilding their engine room for the future.

Ruiz, who has a €30 million release clause and has missed just four matches all season, could be poised to join new recruit Arthur at the Camp Nou once the World Cup in Russia is done and dusted.

CEDRIC SOARES

The Portugal defender could lead a mass summer exodus from Southampton should the Red and Whites get relegated from the top-flight.

According to The Mirror, Tottenham are poised to sign the 26-year-old as he is just one of several of the South Coast club’s top stars who are seeking to stay at the highest level.

Spurs want to provide competition at right-back for Kieran Trippier and see Soares, who has been capped 26 times for his country and is World Cup-bound, as a perfect option.

Soares has two years remaining on his current deal at St Mary’s Stadium.
