ALFIE MAWSON

As Sevilla and Manchester City proved not too long ago, strike at the heart of Manchester United’s defence and it can cause Jose Mourinho mega headaches – even with Eric Bailly back in action.

So that gives credence to the latest name to be linked to Old Trafford, with Alfie Mawson generating a rather big name for himself as Swansea fight tooth and nail to ensure they stay in the Premier League this season.

According to The Sun, scouts on Mourinho’s orders were at the Swans’ 1-1 draw with West Brom last weekend – a move sure to pile the pressure on up-and-down centre-backs Phil Jones and Chris Smalling.

JEAN MICHAEL SERI

Chelsea’s ‘improvements’ in midfield this season have fallen flat so far to say the least. Tiemoue Bakayoko and Danny Drinkwater have been a clear step back – made all the worse with reject Nemanja Matic flourishing at Manchester United.

L’Equipe say the Blues will be rectifying that at the close season with the signature of Jean Michael Seri, the Nice midfielder who was a gnat’s hair away from signing for Barcelona last year.

United and more recently Liverpool have been linked with the diminutive Ivorian who is best regarded for his pinpoint passing and poise – two traits Chelsea desperately need more of.

Wanted man: Seri.
