MOHAMED SALAH

Paris Saint-Germain are looking to upgrade their fearsome front line this summer and this desire has seen them make initial contact with prolific Liverpool forward Salah, according to Le10Sport.

The big-spending Ligue 1 giants are currently considering whether to cash-in on Uruguay hit man Edinson Cavani. If they decide to go through with the sale, then the Egypt international is their preferred replacement.

Salah’s goal in the midweek destruction of Manchester City in the Champions League moved him to 38 goals in 42 appearances during his debut season on Merseyside.

PEP GUARDIOLA

It’s been a chastening week on the pitch for the Manchester City, but Guardiola will soon be announced as the world’s highest-paid manager.

The Mirror reports that the Spaniard has landed a £20 million-a-year (Dh103.5m) contract extension that will keep him at Etihad Stadium until at least 2020. This addition of a further 12 months to the deal signed upon arrival in 2016 was agreed with the Blues hierarchy during February’s training camp in Abu Dhabi.

Guardiola, 47, plans to stick around to see his burgeoning side reach their full potential.

MARIO BALOTELLI

‘Super agent’ Mino Raiola continues to be in the news this week and the latest developments surround the enigmatic Balotelli.

Rumours had emerged that the striker – who has scored an excellent 39 times in 58 games at Nice  – could be bound for Roma. But their director of football, Monchi, has declared talks between the parties only concerned a contract renewal for midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini.

“Is there a chance to see Balotelli in the Giallorossi? We have not talked about anything else with Raiola, only Pellegrini,” according to Corriere dello Sport.
