ARTURO VIDAL

Manchester United are ready to splurge €48 million on Arturo Vidal, according to La Cuarta.

The Chile international could be set to join compatriot Alexis Sanchez at Old Trafford with the Red Devils willing to offer huge wages.

Chelsea may challenge United for the Bayern Munich midfielder though as Antonio Conte is an admirer and worked with the player previously at Juventus.

Verdict

United are looking to replace the retiring Michael Carrick and in a 29-year-old Nemanja Matic, they have an experienced head in midfield. There’s no point bringing in a 30-year-old Vidal whose all-action style of play will dwindle as he ages.

GARETH BALE

Real Madrid are willing to part with Gareth Bale this summer but will play hardball, only allowing the Welshman to leave for €100 million, reports AS.

A return to the Premier League appears to be on the cards for the 28-year-old as he has struggled to nail down a starting berth in Zinedine Zidane’s side this season while being hit by injuries as well.

Verdict

In this market, the sum isn’t too outrageous but it would still be paying over the odds for a player who hasn’t been at his best. If you’re desperate for some star quality though, signing Bale definitely gets you some.

MIRALEM PJANIC

Paris Saint-Germain are considering a move for Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic, according to Corriere della Sera.

The former Lyon player has impressed in Serie A and the Ligue 1 giants are keen to sign him up with an €8 million-per-year deal over five seasons.

While Juventus are reluctant to sell, they can’t compete with those wages.

Verdict

When you’re offered double your wages, the move is always on the table. Pjanic could be the lynch pin in PSG’s midfield but Juventus are certainly ahead of the Parisians in terms of their European standing.
