The January transfer window may be shut but there’s still plenty of news from the rumour mill with several moves being put off until the summer.

MARCO REUS

Marco Reus has endured an injury-hit past couple of seasons.

Tottenham are set to offer the German international the chance to play in the Premier League next season, according to the Mirror.

The prolific 28-year-old is continuing to stall over a new contract at Borussia Dortmund, with his existing deal expiring at the end of the of 2018/19 campaign.

Spurs have been long-time admirers of the forward, who has shown tremendous loyalty to the Westfalenstadion side in recent seasons and turned down various offers to move away.

But now, it seems, Reus is chasing a new challenge and is worried about the direction the Yellows are going in after the recent big sales of Ousmane Dembele to Barcelona and then Arsenal snapped up Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

MARIO BALOTELLI

The controversial Italian has been a revelation in France.

 

The former Manchester City and Liverpool forward is all set for a sensational return to the Premier League, his agent Mino Raiola has revealed.

Balotelli, who has proven to be a huge hit at Nice and plundered 21 goals this term, is out of contract at the end of the season – leading to plenty of speculation over his next move.

And the Italian, according to his super agent representative, is ready for another crack at the big time in England.

Raiola told Italian news channel RAI the 27-year-old is worth at least €100m (Dh450m) but is of course available on a free transfer should the Ligue 1 side fail in talks to extend his two-season stay on the French Riviera.

It remains to be seen whether a Premier League side would take a gamble again on the forward while Balotelli has also been linked with Serie A duo Juventus and Napoli.

ARTHUR

Midfield maestro: Arthur is a much talked about talent.

 

Barcelona are close to thrashing out an agreement to sign the Gremio midfield man once this season is over.

According to Goal, the Spanish giants met with representatives from the Brazilian outfit in Catalonia this week in a bid to make the transfer a reality.

Ernesto Valverde has been keen on the 21-year-old talent for some time while the player himself made it clear he fancies a move to the Camp Nou after posing in a Barcelona shirt last December.

The La Liga leaders are hoping to bolster their ranks in the middle of the park with some youth, helping to relieve some of the pressure on Sergio Busquets and veteran Andres Iniesta, while freeing up Philippe Coutinho to go about his attacking exploits from central areas.
