Juventus and Italy legend Gianluigi Buffon has spoken highly of AS Roma goalkeeper, Alisson.

The 40-year-old has been impressed by the Brazilian who has come into his own this season after Wojciech Szczesny left Roma to be Buffon’s deputy at Juventus.

Liverpool have been strongly linked to a summer move for Alisson with both Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius struggling to establish themselves as first choice this season.

“Alisson is a surprise only to those who have not seen him before,” Buffon said.

“What really strikes me is the way he handles dangerous situations in such an efficient way. He gives his team a lot of confidence.”

Alisson is so highly rated in the Brazilian camp that he is considered favourite to play between the sticks at the World Cup this summer ahead of Manchester City’s Ederson.
