The January transfer window may be shut but there’s still plenty of news from the rumour mill with several moves being put off until the summer.

Here, we round-up the transfer tales that have got everyone talking.

Raheem Sterling

Real Madrid are monitoring Man City star Raheem Sterling, according to the Mirror. The 23-year-old has been one of the stars of Pep Guardiola’s squad this season, scoring 20 goals and providing 10 assists in all competitions. But City are yet to enter fresh contract negotiating with the England international who is in the final two years of his contract at the Etihad Stadium. Los Blancos manager Zinedine Zidane is a keen admirer of the England international and could be interested in signing him this summer if uncertainty over his future remains.

Jamaal Lascelles

Chelsea are preparing to launch a bid for Newcastle captain Jamaal Lascelles, reports the Evening Standard. Gary Cahill is 32 and David Luiz turns 31 in April, with Chelsea determined to add youth to their squad. The Blues are keen to bolster their defensive options, and the 24-year-old ticks all the boxes for Antonio Conte’s side. But Rafa Benitez will be desperate to keep hold of Lascelles, who has emerged as a late contender for England’s World Cup squad this summer.

Matthijs de Ligt

Bayern Munich have joined a lengthy list of clubs chasing Ajax star Matthijs de Ligt, Mundo Deportivo reports. The 18-year-old is considered one of the best defensive prospects in world football – and has attracted interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs. Barcelona are believed to be hot favourites to land his signature, but Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City have been all been linked with the Dutchman. The Catalan giants had considered a move for de Ligt last month once it became known that Javier Mascherano would be leaving the Camp Nou.
