Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang arrived at Arsenal’s London Colney training ground on Tuesday to finalise his transfer from Borussia Dortmund, Sky Sports News understands.

A private jet containing the Gabon international arrived at Luton Airport at 14:00 on Tuesday afternoon, less than an hour after leaving Dortmund airport.

Aubameyang’s presence at Arsenal’s training ground ensures the deal can be completed before Wednesday’s 23:00 deadline. His presence in the Arsenal team and at the Emirates is much needed, with fans surely disheartened by their side’s dismal display in a 3-1 defeat to Swansea on Tuesday night.

Arsenal have agreed a deal worth around £60million (Dh311.5m) with Dortmund for the 28-year-old striker.

While Dortmund have agreed a fee, Sky sources understand they will not let Aubameyang go until they find a replacement with Arsenal waiting on the German club to sign off the deal.

The German club have been linked with Gunners striker Olivier Giroud and Chelsea frontman Michy Batshuayi as possible replacements for the Gabon international.

One player Arsenal will not be signing before Wednesday’s deadline, meanwhile, is Monaco midfielder Thomas Lemar.

The Ligue 1 champions’ vice-president Vadim Vasilyev has reiterated that the France international – also a reported target for Liverpool – is not for sale this month.

“He will stay at Monaco until the end of the season 100 per cent,” Vasilyev told French radio station RMC. “If Liverpool or Arsenal come with a big offer before the end of the market? This is not relevant.”
