We’re into the last week of the January transfer window and clubs are looking to finalise any moves that could help reinforce their squads for the rest of the season.

Here, we take a look at the biggest stories dominating the headlines on Friday.

Will any of the following deals happen?

Let us know your thoughts.

OLIVIER GIROUD

Chelsea are set to make a shock bid for Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud, according to the Mirror.

Giroud had been expected to move to Borussia Dortmund as part of the deal for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to join the Gunners.

However, with talks stalling, Chelsea are set to swoop in and lure the Frenchman to West London.

RATING: 6/10

VERDICT

Antonio Conte is currently undergoing a scoring crisis and is planning a shock move for Giroud.

Ace attackers Alvaro Morata and Eden Hazard have struggled in recent games, and the Blues have only won one league game in the new calendar year.

The Italian needs to either fork out for a big name striker or take a gamble with Giroud to relieve the pressure on Morata and Hazard.

As a short-term fix, perhaps Giroud could be their man.

JAVIER PASTORE

Liverpool and Tottenham have had approaches rejected for PSG wantaway Javier Pastore.

The Argentine is believed to be only considering offers from Italy, where he spent two seasons at Palermo prior to joining PSG.

It’s been a frustrating year for the 29-year-old, falling out of favour under Unai Emery and starting just three Ligue 1 matches this season.

Previously one of PSG’s top performers, it looks like he will bring his six year association with the club to an end this month in an effort to get more minutes before the World Cup.

RATING: 7/10

VERDICT

His late arrival back to the French capital after the winter break may not have helped his case with the player sanctioned for missing two full days of training.

He clearly wants out of the club and if he does leave this month, he will have no shortage of options with Juventus linked with the elusive midfielder.
