CASEMIRO

Manchester United are poised to offer Casemiro a similar wage packet to Paul Pogba in a bid to convince him to sign for the club, according to the Sun.

The Real Madrid star is top of Jose Mourinho’s transfer wish list and is prepared to make him one of the club’s highest earners in order to secure his services.

The Spaniard is said to be happy at the Bernabeu but a significant salary could entice him to England’s north-west.

He has made six appearances in La Liga this season and featured twice in the Champions League.

RATING: 6/10

SPORT360 VERDICT

With Fellaini, Herrera and Carrick all out of contract in the summer, Mourinho is likely to go for Casemiro as he looks to bolster his attacking options.

It is believed the Portuguese wants the Spain under-21 international as a long term partner to Paul Pogba at Old Trafford.

YAYA TOURE

Mancheser City midfielder Yaya Toure could join New York City FC next summer, according to the Daily Star.

The 34-year-old is earmarked as a potential replacement to Italian legend Andrea Pirlo who is set to retire at the season.

Should the Ivorian sign for the Yankee Stadium club it would draw the curtain on a decorated seven year association at City.

RATING: 7/10

SPORT360 VERDICT

With stiff competition for places in Pep Guardiola’s squad, it looks likely that Toure will leave the Etihad Stadium at the end of the season.

The Sky Blues’ sister club in the Big Apple are coached by Patrick Vieira, and would welcome Toure’s vast experience around the midfield.

JOSE GIMENEZ

Manchester United will need to fend off Juventus if they want to sign Atletico Madrid defender Jose Gimenez, according to the Express .

Jose Mourinho is interested in the Uruguay international who has a £60 million release clause in his current deal, which runs until 2021.

RATING: 4/10

SPORT360 VERDICT

Gimenez has struggled to hold down at first team place at Vicente Calderon Stadium and could be tempted by the offer of regular football from a top club like United.

A centre-back may well be on the agenda next summer, with Victor Lindelof yet to prove his class since arriving at Old Trafford in July.
