The transfer window may not open again until January 1 2018 but that hasn’t put an end to plenty of speculation throughout Europe.

Here, we take a look at three big stories dominating the headlines.

Do you think any of these deals will get over the line in January?

KARIM BENZEMA

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has started planning a serious attacking overhaul at the Bernabeu.

According to the Daily Star, Perez is willing to sell Benzema and Gareth Bale to finance a move for Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann and Paulo Dybala.

If Benzema is to leave, Arsenal will emerge as front runners to secure the Frenchman’s signature.

RATING: 5/10

SPORT360 VERDICT

Benzema had an average season in 2016-17 by his standards and as his 30s approach this is arguably Real’s best time to sell up. Plenty of parties will be interested in taking the Frenchman with the Gunners said to be chief among them but it will all come down to the money.

However, Benzema has repeatedly proven his value to Madrid and manager Zinedine Zidane has faith in him, so a move away from the Spanish capital is not as simple as it sounds.

MESUT OZIL

Ozil is set to leave Arsenal next summer and will not sign a new contract, according to the Sun.

The 28-year-old has not spoken with club officials about a new contract since negotiations broke down back in February.

Since Wenger signed a new deal back in May, the club have not pushed for Ozil to commit his future at the Emirates Stadium, which puts his future on high alert.

RATING: 6/10

SPORT360 VERDICT

With Barcelona and Bayern Munich taking a close interest in Ozil’s negotiations, it remains to be seen what the next step is for the German international if he leaves North London.

His body language and form has dipped in recent weeks and this hasn’t helped his teammates – as it comes at a time when they need his leadership the most.
