Liverpool have reached an agreement to sign Naby Keita from RB Leipzig, reports in England on Monday suggest.

However, the midfielder will remain at the Bundesliga club this season and join the Reds next summer ahead of the 2018-19 campaign.

The Guinea international has been a prime target for Liverpool in this transfer window but Leipzig have been determined to hold on to him as they prepare for their maiden Champions League venture.

Keita is set to undergo a medical on Monday to finalise the deal.

The midfielder’s release clause next summer is set at £48million but Liverpool’s offer exceeds that, it is understood.
