Ousmane Dembele has become the second-most expensive footballer in history after replacing the record-holder, Neymar, at Barcelona.

The Frenchman has signed for the Catalans in a deal worth an initial £96.8 million transfer fee.

The blockbuster signing is second only to Neymar’s £196 million move to Paris Saint-Germain.

Dembele will link up with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez at the Camp Nou in a bid to fill the void left by the Brazilian.

The 20-year-old made his senior debut with Rennes only two years ago.
