Bayern Munich have agreed to sign Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina, the Bundesliga champions have confirmed.

The Spaniard has fallen out of favour at Anfield under Brendan Rodgers and spent last season on loan at Napoli, but is now set to move to Germany on a permanent deal for a fee of around £2m (Dh12.4m).

A move to the Allianz Arena will reunite him with manager Pep Guardiola, as the pair were briefly team-mates at Barcelona.

Reina, who would be second choice behind German World Cup winning goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, is due to travel to Munich in the next few days to undergo a medical and sign his contract, according to Bayern's club president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.
