Atletico Madrid boss Digeo Simeone is reportedly interested in bringing Manchester United's Japan midfielder Shinji Kagawa to the Vicente Calderon.

Simeone has enjoyed a highly active summer of transfer activity after replacing Diego Costa, Filipe Luis and Thibaut Cortois with the likes of Mario Mandzukic, Jan Oblak and Antoine Griezmann.

It is believed that the Atletico boss is keen to add another attacking midfielder to his squad and sees Kagawa as an alternative to Santi Cazorla, who looks set to stay at Arsenal despite the Spanish champions' interest.

Kagawa hasn't enjoyed the best of times at United since joining from Borussia Dortmund in 2012 and may be available at the right price.
