Dani Alves set to sign for PSG after turning down Manchester City

Pep Guardiola has reportedly been left furious after Manchester City failed to land free agent Dani Alves with the Brazilian full-back set to be announced as a Paris Saint- Germain player on Wednesday.

Alves, 34, agreed to have his contract cancelled at Juventus at the start of the month with the belief he would sign a two-year deal at the Etihad and be reunited with Guardiola, a manager who he enjoyed so much success with at Barcelona.

But Alves was last night undergoing a medical in Paris and a press conference is scheduled at the Parc des Princes later Wednesday.

Guardiola is determined to land four full-backs this summer after Pablo Zabaleta, Bacary Sagna and Gael Clichy all left the club at the end of last season.

City may now target Tottenham’s Kyle Walker and Benjamin Mendy of Monaco but, with the selling clubs aware of their desperation, are likely to raise the respective prices.
